Our Highlights From 'Build' 2023

back to news

'Build' 2023 is the premier Microsoft Developer conference, which I attended back in June. Apart from my flight back to London being turned around 45 mins (mid-aid) due to ‘mechanical issues’, it was a great experience to get an insight to the direction of software along with all the pomp and showmanship that the Americans are renowned for.

After taking some time to digest and unravel all the talk demos and fanfare, two clear things – incorporating AI is now a big focus of all teams in Microsoft, and Windows is finally back in full force. Windows Copilot will change how we all interact with our device (take a look at the video!) and, as you’ve probably already experienced, ChatGPT is on the uptake. After initially being cautious about AI, I’m somewhat now more at ease after learning about the safe-guards and exactly how much control users and developers have in designing and executing AI logic.

We can see some obvious advantages for Rights Management and more widely for Distribution and we’ve already started planning and incorporating into our product roadmap where AI could be used, optionally of course, in EasyTrack.
